Cheesy Omelette Recipe

Eggs are highly nutritious and cheese is highly tasty. Most of the egg's vitamins are in the yolk (yellow) and the protein and minerals are in the albumen (white) making the egg a complete nutritious meal when eaten whole.

Tip: How to check if your egg is fresh or spoilt/stale: Apart from looking at the production and expiry date printed on the egg the other way to check it is to put it carefully in a dish of water. If it floats it is stale or spoilt, if the is lying flat on the bottom it is fresh. The flatter the egg lies the fresher it is. If the egg is standing upright like a top then that is a few days old and would be best as boiled eggs.

Ingredients:
2 Eggs
3 slices Cheese or 1 cup of shredded cheese
1 medium size Tomato
1/2 Bell pepper
1/2 bunch Kothmir/Coriander leaves/Cilantro
1 tablespoon Cream/Full fat milk
1 teaspoon Olive oil
1 tablespoon Butter
1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder (spicy)
1/4 teaspoon Salt

Method:
1. Chop the tomatoes, coriander leaves/cilantro and bell pepper in thin slices
2. Beat the eggs in a bowl with the cream till it is completely mixed. You can make it out by seeing that there is no white of the egg showing and no sign of the cream/milk
3. Put on the stove. Add the oil and butter and let it melt. Mixing both as the butter won't get burnt plus it will add flavor
4.  Give the egg mixture a final mix and add it to the hot pan. Hold the handle of the pan and swirl the mixture around so that it covers the pan completely
5. Add half of the tomatoes and bell peppers. Add the entire cilantro, black pepper, chilli powder, salt and cheese
6. Cook for 1 minute on medium and then flip the omelette
7. After 15 seconds fold the omelette in half and then half again
8. Serve with the remaining bell pepper and tomatoes on top
